Quick look at Superstars: 10/23/09
- Kelly Kelly defeated Gail Kim in a somewhat sloppy match in which her family was in the front row for. Odd – usually talent is humiliated when performing at home. At least she doesn’t get stuck with Vince McMahon duty. Gail Kim took a nasty looking spill from the top turnbuckle. In TNA, Gail was sharp as they come, but in WWE she seems to be missing moves regularly. Surely they’re not giving that to her as a gimmick…right?
- In what I would call an unbelievable upset, Goldust and Tommy Dreamer defeated Vladimir Kozlov and Ezekiel Jackson. No, I’m not kidding. Goldust pinned Kozlov. Seriously – one, two, three. Goldust and Dreamer won. Quit looking at me like that. If it makes you feel better, Kozlov and Jackson demolished Dreamer and Goldust after the match. At least Dreamer had an elbow pad on this week so we didn’t have to see his elbow again.
- Eric Escobar and Drew McIntyre defeated Matt Hardy and R-Truth, proving once again that…uh…pretty much anyone can defeat Matt Hardy and R-Truth. Vickie Guerrero was at ringside, and man was she annoying. Not really much to say on this one.
- Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler covered for the Smackdown commentary team as Todd Grisham had the night off and Jim Ross recently suffered his third bout of Bell’s Palsy. The same will also be the case tonight on Smackdown.
